Dutch non-government grganization aids disabled children

Quang Tri Province’s Study Encouragement Society offered 64 scholarships worth VND95.4 million (US$5,700) to students Monday thanks to the main sponsor, the Dutch non-government organization Stichting Liliane Fonds.

The scholarships were divided into the study grades separately. Seven scholarships will be provided to primary school pupils worth VND1 million (US$60) each while 34 scholarships available for middle school students worth VND1.2 million (US$72) each.
 
Nine disable high school students will be rewarded VND1.4 million (US$84) each. Fourteen scholarships worth VND2.5 million (US$150) each will be available for college students or higher education.
 
The scholarships are expected to help children to overcome financial problems and continue with their study.
 
Liliane Fonds has offered a lot of financial supports to the education and occupation training in Quang Tri Province since 2002.
 
Stichting Liliane Fonds is a non-government organization set up in the Netherlands in 1980. It works in 80 countries around the world and provides services to about 60,000 children and youngsters with disabilities.
 
It provides medical and social rehabilitation to physically and intellectually challenged children and youngsters with disabilities through a network of local contacts and direct, small-scale and people-centered assistance using existing rehabilitation facilities.
