Education Minister wants to close poor quality private universities

Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha asked higher educational facilities to improve their quality or they must close during an online conference among three cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang on university enrollment in 2019 and amending and supplementing of the Higher Education Law.

The meeting with educational facility managers was held by the ministry to remove difficulties for private educational institutions during procedure.
The Minister emphasized that continuously poor quality higher educational institutions ought to close to ensure Vietnam’s education quality.
He noticed that universities must assume responsibility with learners.
The education sector leader called for determination amongst schools to improve quality because of learners’ benefits.
He added that demand of studying of a country with 96 million population is very huge and the labor market need qualified workers; hence it is a must to improve education quality to meet with the requirement.
Additionally, he said schools must publicize quality of lecturers, employed graduates and tuition fee so that senior high schoolers can have good option.
