Essay Contest Likely to Lure 200,000 Mekong Pupils

The organizers of the “Prudential - Good Essay, Good Writing” contest are confident of getting 200,000 high schoolers in the Mekong Delta to take part in the competition, which was launched in Can Tho City on Monday.

They are life insurer Prudential Vietnam and Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, who are running the contest in collaboration with the education departments of the delta’s 13 provinces and cities.

The topic is life and society. There are four rounds: school, district, provincial and regional. The award presentation will be held on December 3 in Tien Giang Province.

This is the second time that “Prudential - Good Essay, Good Writing” has been held in the Mekong Delta, whereas it’s been done seven times in Ho Chi Minh City.

There’s a reason why the phrase ‘Good Writing’ is in the contest’s name: All entries must be hand-written, and the quality of the physical writing will be judged by the examiners.
