HCMC focuses on teaching students ideology, life skills

Ho Chi Minh City will focus on teaching students ideology, lifestyle and life skills in the school year of 2019-2020.

The Department of Education and Training in HCMC has recently approved the Plan for Political and Ideology education in the academic year of 2019-2020.
According to the plan, the education sector of the city will continue studies of Ho Chi Minh ideology and ethics in accordance with the Directive No.05/CT-TW of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Moreover, the sector will focus on teaching students politics, ideology, lifestyle, and life skills; building positive school culture and safety and friendly educational environment.
Additionally, the sector will look for solutions for school violence as well as promote cooperation between schools and families in educating students about moral values and healthy lifestyle.
The educational institutions will also concentrate educating students on disseminating law, sea and islands issues, protecting natural resources and dealing with climate changes and laws on Internet and cyber security.
The plan points out the role of the Communist Youth Union and the Young Pioneer Organization in cooperating for reaching effective education.
In order to continue the plan on “Building positive school culture in the term 2018-2025”, the educational sector will popularize and emphasize the regulations on fighting against violence while creating behaviors and etiquette in schools.
The Department of Education and Training also notifies all educational institutions to practice democracy, saving, and anti-corruption. The department will increase supervision on practices at educational institutions providing life skills, whilst checking the license of these institutions.
