Ministry requests to fight against measles in schools

The Ministry of Education and Training April 22 sent dispatch to its provincial departments asking to implement measures against measles to curb transmission in a bid to reduce cases of infections and deaths.

The Ministry ordered departments and schools to liaise with local medical clinics to adopt detailed prevention program. Schools should inform local clinics about cases of infection to have proper treatment.

Along with this, schools should enhance awareness of the disease to students and staff and carry out good personal hygiene and environment in the premises. Students are taught to detect the disease.

The Ministry also issued guidelines on food safety. Inspections will be conducted to ensure the regulation to be strictly followed. In Hanoi, where the disease is plaguing, teachers are kept informed about unvaccinated students.
