He chaired a national teleconference to review the 2018-2019 academic year and launch tasks for the new school year in Hanoi yesterday organized by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET).
The PM put forward solutions including responsibilities of local governments in checking schools especially preschools, and high schools to facilitate children and residents.
According to him, local governments pay less attention to building schools in industrial parks and export processing zones while workers and laborers have difficulties in finding educational facilities for sending their children.
Another problem as he said is low human resource quality in the field of agriculture and organic farming. He stressed training is for the country’s growth.
He asked the ministry to arrange higher education institutions especially pedagogy schools and satellite schools which train teachers to meet local demand, emphasizing that higher education institutions must be self-financing and schools of poor quality must be closed.
Overcrowded class is one of the sector’s shortcomings that need to be fixed, he said. Additionally, teachers and schools should take heed of improving ethics.
Regarding teaching ethics and lifestyle for students, the PM said that roles of schools, families and society are very significant and school role is the most important pillar.
