Thousands of Elementary Pupils Take Part in 2007 Environmental Festival

Thousands of pupils from various elementary schools within Ho Chi Minh City took part in the 2007 Environmental Festival aimed at raising their awareness of the importance of environmental protection at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens (SZBG) yesterday.

Pupils take part in the handicraft model-making contest

Yesterday morning, 2,000 Ho Chi Minh City elementary school pupils gathered at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens (SZBG) to take part in the 2007 Environmental Festival jointly organized Department of Education and Training and Vietnam Tetra Park at the SZBG.

The festival’s objective is helping pupils learn the invaluable benefits and means of protecting the nation’s flora, fauna and living environment.

Pupils took part in various environmental activities to stimulate their curiosity and creativity, including quiz shows about environment protection, a handicraft model-making contest, a young designer contest, the U.S. Milky’s Young Creator Contest, and a drawing contest themed “My Green World”.
