Twelve Students in Mekong Delta Win Scholarships

Twelve students were awarded with VND3-million scholarships at the conclusion of the 6th “Prudential – Good Literature and Beautiful Handwriting” contest, jointly organized by the Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper and the Prudential Life Insurance Company.

There were additional scholarships given to ten province-level first prize winners in the Mekong Delta region, one first prize winner in Ho Chi Minh City, and one Mekong Delta region-level first prize winner.

The “Prudential – Good Literature and Beautiful Handwriting” contest has always been responded enthusiastically by teachers and students for six years, attracting about 500,000 candidates.

The 6th contest in 2005 was extended to ten provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, drawing the attendance of over 200,000 candidates and obtaining a good result.

The 6th contest conclusion ceremony was held at the Education and Training Department of Tien Giang Province on April 23, with the attendance of Mr. Hoang Van Khang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Hao, Deputy General Director of the Prudential Life Insurance Company, and representatives of Education and Training Departments of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta.
