University of Food Industry cuts ribbon on $862,028 library

Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry yesterday ceremoniously cut ribbon on VND20 billion ($862,028) its library to meet teaching staffs and students’ needs of studying and learning.

The 2,000 square meter four-floor building with 10,000 boooks will significantly increase the school ability to meet the future needs of lecturers’ and students’ studying and learning.
School Principal Professor Nguyen Xuan Hoan said that books in the library about technologies, technique and business. Additionally, the building has a special section for startup students with 3,000 books.
Along with this, the electronic library system connects with on-going e-learning system to build lecturing, studying materials and exercises so that students can get access to it easily.
Moreover, students can borrow books and other material by using the Self-Issue machines.
The facility also has space for team work, presentation room, research room, movie room, online discussion forum with state-of-the-art equipment and services to support students’ self-study and group work, teamwork.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI) is a leader in human resource training and scientific research for food technology and food safety in the south of Vietnam. HUFI established in 1982, HUFI is a large scale multi-disciplinary University with nearly 20,000 students and 700 academic staff members, 75 of which are working in the field of food technology at the faculty of food technology.
