Vietnamese students win medals at 28th Int’l Biology Olympiad

Three Vietnamese students won gold and silver medals at the 2017 International Biology Olympiad held at the University of Warwick, Coventry, United Kingdom from July 23-29, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.

Among the winners,  Truong Dong Hung, a twelfth-grade student of Hue National High School for the Gifted in Thua Thien-Hue Province, earned a gold medal.
Duong Tien Quang Huy, a twelfth-grade student of Lam Son High School for the Gifted in Thanh Hoa Province; and Nguyen Phuong Thao, an 11th-grade student of the Natural Science Gifted High School under Hanoi National University won silver medals.
The International Biology Olympiad (IBO) is an annual event where students from all over the world compete on their knowledge of biology. The participants are pre-university school students. The 28th competition saw 245 students representing 68 different countries and territories.
A ceremony welcoming the delegation of Vietnamese students home will be held by the Ministry at Noi Bai International Aiport on August 2.
