VN & Finland strengthen educational cooperation

Finland's Minister of Education and Culture Sanni Grahn-Laasone and Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam Phung Xuan Nha witnessed a signing ceremony of 18 memorandum of understandings on educational cooperation between Vietnam’s universities, secondary and high schools with the Finnish partners to open better studying opportunities for Vietnamese students and pupils.  

MoUs focused on transferring educational programs and textbooks, e-training technique, encouraging the opening Finnish high schools in Hanoi (besides the project of Finnish secondary school in Ho Chi Minh City), university cooperation… 

On the occasion, Minister Phung Xuan Nha talked with Finnish Trade and Development Minister.

Both sides discussed on the purchase of the copyright of the Finnish published books on maths, science, English and STEM program; importing Finnish training programs for the primary and high school, universities of the country to boost cooperation activities and projects on start- up.

Representatives of Vietnam universities visited, exchanged and learnt experiences of Finnish universities on university management, the ways to attract enterprises in the process of training, development of scientific research … 

Within the visit framework, Minister Phung Xuan Nha attended in a photography exhibition at Muisiikkitalo Mannerheimintie Theater in Helsinki city to fund for supporting poor students in Lao Cai, Vietnam. 

The cultural exchange event aimed to strengthen further foreign affairs between the two nations.

The Embassy of Finland will use money from the painting exhibition to buy textbooks to the Coc Ly 2 Secondary School for ethnic minority day-boarders in Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province.
