VN ranks first position at APMOPS 2016

Vietnamese students excellently won total six gold medals at Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad 2016 (APMOPS 2016) for the second round competition in Singapore.

Vietnamese students excellently won total six gold medals at Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad 2016 (APMOPS 2016) for the second round competition in Singapore.

With the result, Vietnam is ranked the first position before delegations of Shanghai (China), Singapore and Taiwan (China).

Vietnamese students won six gold medals including Ngo Quy Dang from Doan Thi Diem Primary School, Nguyen Hoang Trung from Hanoi- Amsterdam High School, Pham Truong Dat from Hanoi- Amsterdam High School and Tran Dac Nhat Anh from Nguyen Truong To Secondary School.

Vietnam delegation included ten students. Among them, Tran Xuan Bach is the youngest contestant, and the achievement is the fifth gold medals which he won at international mathematical competitions in 2015- 2016.

Around 260 contestants from 13 countries and territories in Asia Pacific region such as India, Australia, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Korea, Hongkong (China), Shanghai (China), Taiwan (China) and Macau (China) participated in the second round competition of APMOPS 2016.
