Vinh Hy Village in Vinh Hai Commune of Ninh Hai District in the southern central province of Ninh Thuan is well-known for several special seafood dishes.
The most delicious one here is fish gruel cooked with sea bass, a kind of fierce big fish living in deep water regions.
Before the dish is made, the slices of sea bass are cut into two-finger thin pieces and then mixed with pepper, garlic, sugar, monosodium glutamate and small finely chopped spring onion.
To get well-done gruel, rice is washed and cooked in a pot on stove for a while. Once again, small finely chopped spring onion and pepper are used to flavor the soup.
This dish is served with other vegetables such as pennywort, bitter leaf, bean sprouts and others.
To make this dish more enjoyable, the spiced pieces of sea bass are gradually dipped into hot gruel pot for each taste.
