20 midwives in Quang Ngai Province granted Nguyen Van Huong scholarships

A mission team of Tu Du Obstetrics Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City gave 20 scholarships each worth VND3 million (US$135.1) to midwives who are working in disadvantaged districts in the central province of Quang Ngai.

The mission team led by Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tuan arrived in Quang Ngai on October 9 to supervise working procedure of midwives who had been trained in the hospital as per the program "500 midwives for the rural mountainous areas" initiated by Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, former director of the hospital, in co-ordination with Nguyen Van Huong scholarship of Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.

In the meeting, Tu Du Hospital's doctors tested skills of midwives and provided more training of taking care of pregnant women before and after giving birth.
