Brother donates kidney to save sister

Xuyen A Hospital yesterday informed that its second kidney transplantation was performed successfully on a 35-year-old woman in Binh Chanh District who was suffering chronic kidney failure.
She was diagnosed to have the disease two years ago and only the kidney of her 33-year-old brother was suitable for her.
The man was willing to give his kidney for transplantation. Both of them were examined carefully before the 4-hour surgery.
Head of Cho Ray Hospital’s Surgery ward Professor Thai Minh Sam performed the operation with the assistance of his peers of Xuyen A Hospital.
At present, both are in stable condition in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
