According to Nguyen Thi Huynh Mai, Deputy Head of the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene in Ho Chi Minh City, they plan to collaborate with relevant departments to ascertain quality and price of domestic and foreign dairy products to offer better orientation to consumers.
The department has collected 52 milk samples from two local dairy producers participating in the price subsidized program, of which 22 samples were from Vinamilk and 30 from Nutifood, and sent them to independent testing centers to verify quality and microorganism standards.
Mrs. Mai said that the work of recalling imported dairy products contaminated with Clostridium Botulinum is almost complete. Besides, the department has coordinated with 24 districts to keep a close eye on imported dairy products in the market. Samples have also been taken for testing of both domestic and other imported dairy products.
