Commune hospital saves Laotian man with multi injuries from labor accident

A hospitalin the mountainous northern province of Son La’s Sop Cop has saved the live of a Laotian man who suffered serious injuries due to labor accident, said , director of the General Hospital Dr. Tran Dang Nguyen.

40-year-old man Lau A Cha from Huoi Phuc village in Hua  Phan Province of Laos was taken to the hospital in serious condition with multi injuries in belly, chest, head, neck due to labor accident. Right after receiving the patient, doctors have provided intensive treatment and decided to perform an operation on him as  he was too weak after a long distance transfer to the province’s General Hospital.

The surgery was so complicated because it bled much inside as his spleen ruptured; accordingly surgeons decided to remove his spleen to stop bleeding.  After three hour operation, physicians were successful in saving the man’s live. The man was now in intensive care unit and he was recovering.

The hospital is one of the   most disadvantaged district hospital in the country. It lacks medical equipment and personnel.

Right after hearing the news, Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien sent her compliments and certificates of merit to the hospital’s teams of medical workers who overcome difficulties to save patients in severe condition.
