Company asked to revoke nutritional supplement containing banned Sibutramine

Following the request of the Vietnam Food Administration under the Ministry of Health, Mat Xi Company in J29 Vo Thi Sau Street in Dong Nai Province’s Thong Nhat Ward has to remove two batches of nutritional supplement Go Lean Detox manufactured on August 29, 2018 and October 20, 2018 because these nutritional pills contain banned Sibutramine.
The revocation is made under the supervision of competent agencies and write report to the Food Safety Department in Dong Nai and the Vietnam Food Administration.
Sibutramine is prescribed to treat obesity in Vietnam. However, as the drug causes harm to heart, the Ministry of Health has requested to ban the use of the ingredient from April 2011.
