Da Nang Authorities cover hospital fee for poisoning tourists

Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee in the central city of Da Nang  yesterday decided to cover all treatment fee for 17 poisoning tourists.

On the same day, Deputy Chairman Dang Viet Dung visited the tourists in Da Nang Hospital. All tourists were discharged except patient Dung – the leader of the tourist group. All the holiday-makers are in stable condition.

In addition to paying all hospital fee for the tourists, People’s Committee spent VND22 million ($969.5) as support for 11 poisoning in-patients.

Da Nang People’s Committee asked the Department of Health and people’s committee in Son Tra District, municipal Department of Food Safety to conduct investigation the eatery where 17 visitors had eaten and were poisoned and then to report to the Da Nang People’s Committee before May 16.
Inspectors will issue penalties if they find out violation of food safety.      

As Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper released on May 15, 17 tourists got poisoned after eating chicken rice in an eatery in Ho Nghinh Street in Son Tra District; accordingly they were rushed to Da Nang Hospital for treatment.
