Pham Hong Son, head of the Department of Animal Health in the central province of Quang Binh, said bird flu has now been confirmed in ducks in Thong Nhat Village in Quang Ninh District, after tests on 300 dead ducks.

Vets slaughtered thousands of ducks in the infected area and warned people against eating dead poultry.

However, on the afternoon of July 16, at a meeting of the People’s Council in An Ninh Commune, 80 participants were served ducks and as a result are under observation for any infection.
