Festival teaches children about Food Safety and Hygiene

The Youth Food Safety and Hygiene Festival 2008, held at ‘Children Houses’ all over the country was officially launched in Ha Noi December 20.
The festival, which is being held in children’s day centers, carries a message that it is “All about a safe environment for children”. It was co-organized by the Central Center for Guiding Activities of Children under the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnam Food Administration under the Ministry of Health.
The festival has attracted eight outstanding representations, grouping 200 children from two cities: Ha Noi; and Hai Phong, three provinces: Thai Binh; Nam Dinh; and Hai Duong, and the central province of Nghe An.
The children compete in two events: performing on stage and answering questions on food safety and hygiene.
Teams have to express their ideas and skits about food safety and hygiene in their areas through short plays, comedy or songs. The teams are also required to provide solutions to their situation.
The festival will close December 21.
