Global Fund offers financial aid to Vietnam to tackle disease

Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria has already provided US$165 million to Vietnam out of the $405 million that had been agreed upon for projects to fight the three diseases in the country.

This was announced by Nguyen Thi Xuyen, deputy Minister of Health at the 8th Global Fund conference in the Asian-Pacific region, which opened in Hanoi on September 27, attended by a hundred delegates from several nations.

Ms. Xuyen stated that Vietnam as well as countries in Southeast Asia has received huge sponsorships from the Global Fund.

Besides the invaluable financial backing, Vietnam has also received support in technology, professional skills and management from senior experts on how to deal with the three above diseases.
