The Vietnam Food Administration (VFA) under the Ministry of Health yesterday imposed an administrative fine of VND65 million on a company in Hanoi for violation of food advertisement.
Trieu Son Company in Yen Hoa Ward in Hanoi was fined for advertising nutritional supplement Ancan without permission. Moreover, the company has had false claims about the supplement as drug, said Head of VFA Nguyen Thanh Phong.
Along with the fine, VFA asked the company to remove the advertisement and to have corrigendum.
The supplement with the main content of Curcumin (500mg) was advertised as a miracle substance to strengthen the body's own defense, anti aging, cancer and diabetes treatment.
