The National Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (NIITD) is treating over 100 measles patients, Dr. Nguyen Hong Ha, deputy director of the institute said, with patients lying two or three to a bed and even lying in lobbies.

Following an upsurge in the disease recently, she said doctors are being overworked.

The number of patients developing complications has shot up and the institute is now treating two patients with severe complications who have lost consciousness, she said.
