Ministry orders nationwide measles vaccinations

The Ministry of Health ordered a campaign to distribute measles vaccinations in order to combat the scattered outbreak.

The Ministry ordered the chairpersons of municipal and provincial people’s committees to disperse vaccinations in the National Expanded Program on Immunization.

Related departments are urged to check children for valid vaccination.

Relevant agencies will release information of the spread of the disease for the press. Parents are urged to vaccinate their children.

Since the end of 2013, many nations recorded an unusual rise of cases of measles, said Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Nguyen Thanh Long. More than 5,000 cases were reported in 59 cities and provinces in Vietnam.

Most children infected have not been properly vaccinated.
