National Cardiovascular Science Seminar

The seminar with the theme “Diagnosing heart with ultrasound scan” was held in Ho Chi Minh City Sunday during the 11th national congress of cardiovascular science and the 6th Vietnamese-German Days.

The live heart operation carried out by Dr. Koh Tian Hai, chairman of Singapore Cardiovascular Association in the opening day of the congress.

On November 20 and 21, 164 scientific subjects such as study on characteristics blood pressure of hypertensive patients with holter 24h, management of hypertensive patients with concomitant metabolic syndrome or diabetes mellitus: new concepts in combination therapy, stenosis of the branches of the aortic arch: diagnosis and treatment were reported and 13 warnings from the heart association were released for the first time.

Of 164 scientific reports, 14 will be selected to give prizes in the contest “Young cardiovascular scientists” for under-forty doctors. The awards ceremony will take place on the closing day, November 22.

Following the congress are training programs lectured by experts of German Cardiovascular Institute in Cho Ray Hospital.

The medical conference, attended by Prof. Pham Gia Khai, director of Viet Nam National Heart Institute and chairman of the Cardiovascular Association, Ho Chi Minh City Party Chief Le Thanh Hai, director of the HCMC Health Department Dr. Nguyen The Dung, General Consul of German in Ho Chi Minh City, chairman of the Friendship Vietnamese- German Association Dr. Nguyen Sy Huyen, chairman of Singapore Cardiovascular Association Dr. Koh Tian Hai and famous doctors nationwide, lasts from November 19 to 22.
