One more man in HCMC succumbs to A/H1N1 flu

Head of Cho Ray’s Tropical Disease Department Dr. Le Quoc Hung announced a 46-year-one man in Binh Tan District of Ho Chi Minh City succumbed to A/H1N1 at home.

His death brought the total number of people succumbing to the disease in HCMC to three since the beginning of the year.
Before, the man was hospitalized on June 22. He self-treated at home when he experienced high fever, cough, running nose and sore throat. However, his illness did not abate; consequently, he was taken to Cho Ray Hospital for emergency treatment.
After two-day treatment, his illness was still worse. His family wanted to bring him home and he died at home.
At present, the department is treating seven people with A/H1N1.
Dr. Hung said on June 26, the hospital admitted a patient tested positive for /H1N1 who was transferred from the central province of Ninh Thuan on June 24.
The patient was suffering serious breathing problem; accordingly, the patient had to put on ventilator when taken to the hospital.
