Outbreaks of dengue reported in Dong Nai province

42 areas facing outbreaks of dengue were reported in the southern province of Dong Nai’s Nhon Trach District, said the provincial Department of Preventive Medicine on June 3.

The report also said that the disease has affected 450 people. The figure show a year-on-year increase of 77 percent. The disease is developing  complicatedly especially in the populated communes with labor immigrants such as Long Tho, Phuoc Thien, and Hiep Phuoc.
Most of immigrants live in dilapidated rented houses with blocked drainage system. Additionally, medical workers can not access theses houses to spray chemicals to kill mosquitos and its larva.

Though health workers carried out disinfection twice, outbreaks of dengue have still spread. Health officials have called on increasing information of the disease to raise people’s awareness.
