Poor patients receive gifts on Tet

Health Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu Monday distributed gifts to the needy and poor children at the National hospital in Hanoi on the occasion of Tet.

Some 600 sick children along with accompanying relatives will be given two free meals a day during the next successive four days from December 30 to January 3 (of the lunar calendar). The minister will also present 60 lucky money packets worth VND30 million to 60 sick children from the most disadvantaged families.

ANZ representatives also distributed 100 gifts of cash, confectionery and new clothes to patients and their relatives from the Phuong Mai and Cot Co communes in Hai Ba Trung district in Hanoi.  Around 500 patients, mostly of the poorer strata of the communes come to receive treatment at the Bach Mai hospital. Most never have the opportunity to celebrate Tet.
