Red Cross Society, Prudential staffs partake in blood donation festival

The Vietnam Red Cross Society, Prudential Insurance Company and the national Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion yesterday in Hanoi launched the program to voluntarily donate blood and festival to give blood with the participation of members, volunteers of the society.

Deputy Chairman of the Society Doan Van Thai said that the festival is practical activities in order to surmount the blood shortage for treatment and emergency in the year-end. It is one of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Redo Cross Society and 17 establishment anniversary of Vietnam Prudential 

The festival has been launched in Hanoi and 16 other provinces nationwide including the northern provinces of Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Son La, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, the central provinces of Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, the central highlands province of Dak Lak Lam Dong, the central provinces of Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, and the southern provinces of Vinh Long, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Ca Mau and Ho Chi Minh City since early November and lasts to the end of December, 2016 with the target of collecting 7,000 blood units.

Mr. Thai stressed that the Red Cross Society plays a vital role in connecting humane activities and it is a trusted address for local and foreign individuals and organizations.

Blood donation is one of annual activities of Prudential Vietnam staffs and Red Cross Society members and volunteers from organization, enterprises, universities, colleges nationwide. Thanks to the program, many people have been saved for timely blood donation. The blood donation festival also helps reducing the health sector’s burden in taking care of patients.
