Relatives of renal dialysis victims ask for compensation of $87,999

Families of eight victims of a renal dialysis in the General Hospital in the northern province of Hoa Binh required a compensations of VND2 billion ($87,999) at a dialogue with leaders of the hospital.

The meeting was convened after the incident took place four months ago.
Deputy Head of the hospital Quach Thien Tuong sent his sympathy to the bereaved, confirming the hospital will be responsible for the incident.
Relatives of dead patients proposed a compensation of VND250 million for each. Dr. Tuong said that as this is the first incident happening in the hospital; consequently, managers are confused in solving it.
Therefore, he thought the two side will discuss compensation in the end of September in the second meeting.
Before, on May 29, eighteen patients undergoing renal dialysis at the hospital suffered a mass anaphylactic shock, resulting in the death of eight of them.
Ten others were transfered to Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi for emergency treatment and they are in stable condition later.
