Tra Vinh Province is clear of bird-flu cases, said Nguyen Van Phong, deputy chairman of Tra Vinh People’s Committee, on March 24.
The committee ordered the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to issue guidelines for farming poultry in a safe manner. Concerned agencies are urged to carry strict measures against the re-emergence of the virus.
The province experienced an outbreak on February 22 in the Cang Long District. It spread to Cau Ke, Tieu Can and Tra Vinh killing 15,838 poultry. The flu persisted for over a month.
