US Mission seeks concepts for HIV/AIDS communication programs

The US Mission to Vietnam is seeking concept papers from local non-profit organizations and civil society groups interested in designing and implementing small programs or activities for HIV/AIDS outreach communication this year, the American Embassy announced May 26.

The funding for these activities is supported by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in Vietnam.

The embassy said submitted concept papers shall describe programs or activities targeting the general public. Selected programs or activities shall serve to expand public awareness of PEPFAR programs, designed to combat HIV/AIDS in the country.

Priority will be given to activities related to World AIDS Day (December 1) and Vietnam’s national action month for HIV/AIDS prevention and control 2009 (late November to early December), and media-related events which disseminate and share information reflecting the education and outreach goals of PEPFAR, the embassy added.

Multiple awards will be made, each not to exceed US$10,000, said the embassy.

Concept papers (in both English and Vietnamese) should be submitted by June 30 to the PEPFAR Vietnam Coordination Office in Hanoi at 15/F TungShing Square, Ngo Quyen Street.
