Vietnam to make dengue fever vaccine

Trial testing of dengue fever vaccine made by Sanofi Pasteur in Vietnam was a success without any incident on 2,336 children aged 2 to 14 in the Mekong delta provinces of Tien Giang and An Giang.

Associate Professor D.r Tran Ngoc Huu, former President of Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City had a talk with Sai Gon Giai Phong reporter about vaccine.
Accordingly Sanofi Pasteur has undertaken research to make Dengvaxia vaccine which helps to prevent dengue fever of four types. The vaccine is proved to be effective in preventing dengue disease in individuals 9-45 years of age with a documented prior dengue infection and who are living in endemic areas.
The dengue vaccine has been evaluated in studies for over 20 years involving more than 20,986 people from 15 countries with up to six years of follow-up from large-scale clinical safety and efficacy investigations.
54 nations have granted marketing authorization for Sanofi's dengue vaccine Dengvaxia .
In the S-shaped country, nearly 2,400 children aged from 2 to 14 have taken part in the trial testing in seven years. Trial testing has completed and researchers sent the result to the Ministry of Health waiting for permission of circulation. Sanofi Pasteur pledged to sell the vaccine at cheap price in Vietnam.
