Vietnamese Doctors Bring Light to Nearly 4,000 Poor Laotians

Nearly 4,000 Laotians have had eye operations with the help of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and the city's Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients, the chairwoman of Laotian Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients said during the visit by her organization and Eye Hospital of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Ho Chi Minh City.

Out of nearly 4,000 cataract patients, over 2,400 ones have had surgeries with the help of Ho Chi Minh City Sponsoring Association for Poor People and its Laotian counterparts.

Nearly 1,600 cases were operated by Laotian doctors and nurses with technology transferred by Vietnamese doctors.
