Vinh Long Province enhances surveillance on A/H1N1 flu

The Department of Health in the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long yesterday asked its sub-deparments to isolate A/H1N1 flu patients who remain in intensive care in local infirmary.

These patients receiving intensive care at the the province's General Hospital in different rooms to avoid cross-transmission.
The local health authority also asked to enhance surveillance on flu prevention by increasing information of the disease to residents. People are advised to eat cooked food and boiled water to keep fit.
At present, the outbreak of the flu in the province is under control.
Before, a mission team of Pasteur Institute led by President Phan Trong Lan arrived in the General Hospital in Can Tho City to check flu and respiratory disease prevention. The team warned medical workers should be vaccinated first before contacting patients, especially with chornic patients.
