The Contagious Diseases Department at the Pediatrics Hospital No.1 and 2 is receiving some kids suffering hand-foot-mouth diseases.

The head of the department in the Pediatrics Hospital No.1, Dr. Truong Huu Khanh, advised parents to keep personal hygiene for their toddlers and to take their children to hospitals promptly when kids have fever, ulcers in their hand, foot and mouths.

The dengue fever has also reared its ugly head after a hiatus. Dr. Le Bich Lien, deputy director of the Pediatrics Hospital No.1, said some patients have suffered from heavy complications of dengue fever, advising parents to takes some measures against the disease like killing mosquitoes and children should wear long-sleeve shirts, sleep in mosquito-net and apply anti-mosquito cream on body.

Children easily contract respiratory diseases as weather changes passed, sometimes when the day was very hot, it suddenly rained. Dr. Le Anh Tuan from the Respiratory Department of the Pediatrics Hospital No.2 said many kids have recently been hospitalized due to respiratory diseases and the Pediatrics Hospital No.2 saw the hospital admission of over 180 respiratory toddlers on April 23.

Pregnant women meantime went to hospitals for rubella tests as the dangerous disease is rampant. Pregnant females should be cautious about it as they may have miscarriage or their newly-born babies will have defect. Doctors advised pregnant women to be vaccinated to prevent contracting rubella.
