World Bank to Give $38 million to Fight Bird Flu

The World Bank has agreed to give Viet Nam US$38 million to combat avian influenza.

The financing agreement was signed in Ha Noi today by Nguyen Hoi Chan, acting president of the World Bank, and Le Duc Thuy, governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam.

They also signed off on a project to minimize the spread of the disease in poultry and humans through vaccination and the timely discovery of bird flu cases.
