Young doctors follow Uncle’s Ho path, serve community

A voluntary program by young doctors to assist with community health based on President Ho Chi Minh's teachings was inaugurated at a ceremony held at the Tan Trao historic site in the northern province of Tuyen Quang May 18.

In attendance were Ha Thi Khiet, secretary of the Party Central Committee and chair of its Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Dac Vinh, first secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, and many young doctors from hospitals in Hanoi.

The doctors gave away gifts to 20 beneficiaries of social polices, provided free examinations and medicines to over 1,000 people, and performed eye surgeries on 100 older people from poor households and martyrs’ families.

They also handed brochures on disease prevention and taught first aid to 50 kindergarten teachers.

The program was carried out in many parts of the country.
