12 medics facing charges for fraud in HCM City

The Supreme People’s Procuracy on Monday prosecuted 12 doctors and medical workers for misappropriating a great deal of sums from the health insurance fund of Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the indictment, medical doctor Luu To Lan from the hospital was suspected of colluding with accomplices to steal medicine from the health insurance fund and resell the drugs outside the hospital, located in District 5.

She and her accomplices caused a total loss of almost VND4 billion, according to the indictment. They made fraud on almost 1,200 prescriptions.

Those who are facing charges include medical doctors from other hospitals and pharmacists.
