$12.9 million estimated to relocate polluting factory in Binh Duong

The People’s Committee in the southern province of Binh Duong yesterday announced its plan to relocate polluting factories at the cost of VND300 billion ($12.9 million).
Factory owners who are willing to stop operation or shift to do different business at the same location will receive compensation of VND500,000 per square meter of their legal factory.
Those factory owners agreeing to move into industrial parks will receive support of relocation, transportation and installation fee as well as loans with preferential interest to build new factories in industrial parks.
Laborers of both kinds will receive financial support of three basic salary if they have worked 12 months in the factory.
Around 150 factories in districts of Thuan An, Di An, Ben Cat and Tan Uyen town of Binh Duong Province mostly producing waste iron, chemicals and plating ought to be relocated in industrial parks.
