The dental clinic, which began operating a month ago at R4-45 Hung Phuoc 4 in Phu My Hung in District 7, promotes its team of highly motivated and qualified dentists.

Its promotional material also points out Japanese doctors are involved in treatment.

However, no Japanese dentists have permission to work in Vietnam, according to documents at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health.

Department of Health inspectors carried out an unscheduled check of the clinic on November 27.

The inspection was delayed for a short time because dental center employees refused to cooperate, even though inspector Pham Huu Quoc had a warrant bearing a Department of Health seal.

The inspection finally got underway when local police arrived to assist.

An Hue’s management couldn’t show the company’s certificate of business registration or certification to use X-ray machines. Its price list also seemed to breach regulations and seven kinds of Japanese-made medicines were found without registration numbers.

The Department of Health inspectors asked the clinic to cease activities beyond its reach.

The founder of the dental center is Ms. Yuko Nakajima.
