Ministry suspends two taxi companies for rule violations

The transport ministry’s inspectorate suspended two taxi companies on December 20, operating at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, for violating regulations, said Thach Nhu Sy, deputy chief inspector of the ministry.

Sai Gon Petrolimex Taxi Company was suspended for not having a sufficient number of drivers and its cab color and logo did not match that on its registered license.

Festival Taxi Company was found to have poor management and   quoting incorrect fares. In addition, 91 drivers of the company were not contracted by the company.

The inspectorate also revoked trademark and logo of 75 cabs of the Sai Gon Tour Taxi Company for selling its brand name to An Thien Nhan Company which still continued to use the Sai Gon Tour Taxi Company trademark. Inspectors also revoked the Sai Gon Tour Taxi trademark.
