600 small female entrepreneur owners receive training

The program “ Training managerial skills and support business for owners of small and super small businesses” has provided training to 600 women members who want to start a business in districts of Ho Chi Minh City in 2018.

At a conference to review the program held by Vietnam’s Women Association in Ho Chi Minh City and European Institute of Cooperation and Development (IECD) in Pacific Asian, participants said that the program has made contribution to the governmental project No. 939 named “ Supporting women to start a business in the period 2017-2020” in the city.
An IECD representative said that the training program to provide managerial skills and knowledge management for small and super small female entrepreneur owners has been run since 2015.
In the city, over 600 females are small and super small business owners who took part in free courses on basic knowledge of financial calculation, cost, accumulated depreciation, marketing and decoration of stores.
After graduation, IECD keeps an eye on students’ business within one year. Indications are that all of them perform well with turnover increase of 30 percent.
The next course will be run in 2019 for small and super small in all business inclusive of online and offline kinds.
On the occasion, to assess students’ business, the program organizer will launch a contest “ Good stores” with students’ 33 booths to introduce their products. Student Van Ngoc Thuy of course No. SE4 with handmade cookie captured the first price followed by Nguyen Thi Dieu Linh of course SÉ to sell souvenir items.
Ms. Dieu Linh said that she can live on the business because from 2010, her revenue increased seven times compared to before. She sets up two booths in Van Thanh Tourist Park in Binh Thanh District and My Phu condominium in district 7 displaying more than 100 products.
She shared her achievement in doing business thanks to participating in the training course.
