Breeders asked to conduct decontamination at farms, slaughter houses

The People’s Committee in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday sent a document to local district administrations over the implementation of measures to prevent diseases on cattle and poultry.

As per the document, to reduce the risk of diseases on cattle and poultry, people should regularly onduct cleaning and decontamination at breeding facilities, slaughter houses, markets and animal product shops.

Residents are encouraged to inform local governments and animal health agencies when they discovered dead or diseased animals with unknown causes.

Vets should detect and curb the spreading of diseases, especially in areas bordering with infected villages. Harsh penalties will be imposed on those who hide or sell diseased and dead animals and breed poultry and cattle without registration.
