Budget revenue highest from FDI sector

The Ho Chi Minh City Taxation Department has reported that budget revenue reached VND88.6 trillion (US$4.06 billion) in the first six months this year with the most contributor being Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) sector.

Revenues from trade and production activities exceeded VND50.8 trillion (US$2.33 billion).

Of the total number, state-owned enterprises contributed VND13.8 trillion, private sector brought VND17 trillion and FDI firms paid VND20 trillion. 

Revenues saw a year on year reduction of 3.44 percent from business income tax but increase from other taxes.

For instance, value added tax revenue hiked 12.44 percent. Businesses paying most were Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Corporation with VND200 billion and Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Company’s subsidiary with VND255 billion.

Budget collection from special consumption tax increased 7.9 percent. Top payers included Vietnam Brewery Limited with VND2.39 trillion, the Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Corporation with VND1.34 trillion and Mercedes-Benz with VND685 billion.
