The 24th session of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee was officially opened today and focused on discussing some contents including socioeconomic development.

According to a report from the city People Committee’s Civil Affairs Commission, HCMC economy rather well recovered in the fist six months this year.
Gross Domestic Product growth rate hit three year record high of 8.55 percent, reaching VND417,064 billion (US$19.13 billion).
The People’s Committee has defined 11 main solution groups in the second half this year, which will decide if the city can obtain its socioeconomic development targets this year and for five-year phase 2010-2015.
Of these, the city will pay attention to solving difficulties for businesses, assist them to improve competitiveness, renovate technologies, increase productivity and goods quality, and advertise their brand names.
Support industry promotion activities will be boosted with expos and development projects.
The committee will also help businesses access information and policies when Vietnam signs economic agreements via the International Integration Commission.
