Ho Chi Minh City Chairman Le Hoang Quan held talks with Cambodia’s visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong on Wednesday.
The two sides shared a belief that the two countries’ bilateral trade would increase to US$2 billion by 2010 from the current US$700-800 million.
Viet Nam and Cambodia on Tuesday agreed to boost cooperation, together with Laos, to build a development triangle, and coordination in the region.
The agreement was reached when the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation concluded its 8th meeting in Hue City, central Viet Nam.
That meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem, chairman of the Vietnamese sub-committee; and Mr. Hor Namhong, also chairman of the Cambodian sub-committee.
