Cambodia’s Independence Day marked in city

The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association’s Ho Chi Minh City Chapter and the city chapter of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations held a get-together to celebrate the 58th anniversary of Cambodia’s Independence Day, Nov. 9, here on Tuesday.

Mr. Truong Minh Nhut, head of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association’s HCM City Chapter, delivered a speech to mark the event.

He said he believed friendship and cooperation between the two countries would develop further as the two countries’ leaders stated.

The two countries have seen bilateral economic ties improve this year with two-way trade of US$2 billion.

Ho Chi Minh City and various towns in neighboring Cambodia have signed cooperation agreements in different areas such as investment, trade, education, and health care.
