Children following Uncle Ho’s teachings honored for good deeds

In the northern province of Bac Ninh, 72 children from across the country participated in a meeting themed ‘Thousand Good Deeds for Uncle Ho’, organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Education and Training and Bac Ninh Province.

Speaking at the meeting, President Truong Tan Sang expressed that children in the country, who are the future masters of the country, should preserve and develop good traditions and adopt good behavior following Uncle Ho’s five teaching words and actively participate in the movement ‘Thousand Good Deeds for Uncle Ho’.

President Sang also gave First Class Labor Medal to Tam Son Junior High School and Labor Hero to People’s Teacher Nguyen Duc Thin who initiated the movement ‘Thousand Good Deeds for Uncle Ho’, among primary and junior students on March 24, 1963 at Lien Son Junior High School.

On the same day, Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee, participated in a Congress themed ‘Uncle Ho’s Good Nieces and Nephews’ at the Hoa Binh Theater in District 10, in which more than 500 students from primary and secondary schools also attended.

At the Congress, 82 students were honored for their good deeds. For instance, Tran Ngoc Phuong Linh, ninth grader in Minh Duc Junior High School, studied while also taking care of his mother who was suffering from cancer; Nguyen Duong Kim Hao, a sixth grader in Nguyen Gia Thieu Secondary School in Tan Binh District, was awarded the gold medal for his smart control panel by the Korea Invention Academy at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2013.
